Musical Instruments
We are proud that the foundry's production program includes a wide range of castings for upright and grand piano frames, which were acquired in 2010 from the now-defunct foundries in Pilníkov near Trutnov and Skuhrov nad Bělou. The cast iron frame essentially represents the soul of an upright or grand piano and has a significant impact on the acoustics of the entire instrument. During the 1980s, there were attempts to replace the cast iron frame with a plastic one, but it was subsequently discovered that the plastic frame did not provide adequate acoustics, and manufacturers returned to using cast iron frames. Given that these are thin-walled castings with a transition to thicker ribbing and relatively strict flatness requirements for various parts of the casting, this production is unique in the Czech Republic. In the 1990s, several Czech foundries attempted to start production but without success.
